The idea of the Bed & Breakfast appear spontaneously when the II World War ended in England and the village people began offering free bed and breakfast to the soldiers who had no place to spend the night in the slow and complicated return home. Then the idea was adopted in the United States of America as a cheap and simple accommodation for travellers. Shortly after, the B&B concept became known throughout the world. Usually it is a family house adapted for this purpose, with simple rooms including breakfast at no additional cost. The house is often inhabited by its owners all year round.
