A full day activity in the area of Lago Del Desierto, for those who love kayaking and the water. There are two daily departures (except Mondays that do not operate): one in the morning at 9:30 and another in the afternoon at 12:00.

The excursion begins in El Chaltén at 9:00 in the morning with a transfer from your accommodation to the Lago Del Desierto, a couple of hours ride.

In the Lake, the kayak guide will welcome you and give you instructions on basic rowing techniques, describe the course to be taken and the safety measures during the activity. After that, you wear your waterproof suit and everything is ready to go into the water!

Once in the water, the rowing begins towards the Bahía Tranquila, which requires approximately 40 minutes and in which there are some stops to rest, appreciate the views of the Huemul and Vespignani glaciers and chat about the Lake and its environment.

Bahía Tranquila is a beautiful corner protected from the wind, surrounded by the forest and with crystal clear water of little depth; it is the perfect place to get off and have a rest for 20 minutes to recharge energy.

After the break the rowing takes us back to the starting point. Once in Punta Sur, all the equipment is left and you have a little more than two hours of free time to rest or do the trek to the Huemul Glacier, before returning by minibus to El Chaltén.

The morning excursion arrives back at El Chaltén at 6:00 p.m., and the afternoon excursion at 8:30 p.m.
